Last August, Niagara lost a wonderful daughter, sister, friend and co-worker.
Lisa Harris, fighting a difficult battle with Leukemia, passed away. Leaving behind a tight circle of friends and family, it is apparent that she still affects their lives today.
Ashley Smith introduced me to Paint The Town Orange, an event to celebrate the life of Lisa Harris with all proceeds going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
Ashley shares, “One of my favourite things about Lisa was that she knew how to have fun. Despite the tragedy of losing her so young, I feel she made the most of the time she had. She was hardly seen without a smile on her face, and her laugh was absolutely contagious.”
Thinking back fondly on their days working together, Ashley states, “I can recall many times working with her at Wendy’s where we spent the better part of the night joking and laughing as she shared some of her crazy stories with us.”
Happening just a few days before her birthday, Paint The Town Orange is a celebration of her life and will be how Lisa would have loved it – with plenty of drinks and live music. The event will also feature a bake sale and raffle.
Several local business have contributed to the raffle prizes but Ashley would still appreciate more. If there are any local Niagara organizations that would like to provide something, please email Ashley.
